Light in colour with the rounded corners and a streamlined verticality, The Royalton echoes the style of its high-profile neighbour. Architect Attila Burka called this project, (located on an “impossible 100-foot by 100-foot site” between a government building), his “Swiss watch” for its complex interlocking plan incorporating 137 suites. This trendsetting project helped pioneer the movement towards the replacement of C-class office buildings with residential condominiums, and introduced residential uses to Bay St. near the business district.
